"Intermezzo"

Intermezzo is a publication based on the early 20th-century text by Ukrainian writer Mykhailo Kotsiubynsky, reinterpreted through a contemporary design lens. The project explores typography, visual hierarchy, and layout to bridge the original narrative with a modern-day audience. The book is structured around its 11 short chapters, punctuated by a series of photographic interludes that reflect the title’s meaning—intermezzo, a pause between musical acts. These photo sequences act as visual rests between chapters, echoing the rhythm and emotional tone of the text while reinforcing the concept of interruption and reflection.
